From CloudDancer@21:3/226 to All on Mon Jan 26 18:23:30 2026
    Howdy All,

Thanks to Nick@Pharcyde I finally fixed all my Mystic a48 woes... Turns out upgrading to a49 pre-alpha, really helped with some Netmail/Echoarea bugs I've been encountering...

Mind you, if all your Echomail addresses, and Echomail nodes, and such are set in order, it probably works fine, but as I had to go back and "undo" access via AgencyHUB as /999 and such, some weirdness creeped in wher even though my AKA was /20, netmail going out would somehow still use /999 which was nowhere in the system. Really bizarre...

Anyway, I believe all is now sorted out and Siflfen Path BBS is now on:
    - fsxNet (duh!): as 21/3/226 (thanks deon!)
    - FidoNet : as 1:226/20 (thanks Nick!)
    - AgoraNet : as 46:1/117 (thanks Nick again)

I did Netmail an application to Christian Sacks @ (2:250/5), though I am not quite sure if he received it due to my earlier Netmail issues. Is he around fsxNet much?

Lastly, during my upgrade procedure at the last step of compiling MPS files, I did get a weird runtime error ... not sure if it matters, but maybe one of you can let me know.

    deon,

Christian is also known as Meatlotion and he hangs out here too...

Most hilarious thing is that the moment I read your message I was actually pro-actively adding tqwNet CA HUB into Mystic (while awaiting Christian's reply to my application) and typing MeaTLotioN into SysOp field as I was seeing binkp report that upon connecting to his hub .... Crazy ;)

Thank you! Hope to have tqwNet onboarded soon! This has been the most fun week for sure :)

BTW - since I have you here, would it pain you (or Clearing Hauz) much if you set rescan for my node on all AREAS for fsxNet with R=9999999 so that I can keep them for posterity? (unless you have them set to delete after a time, not sure) ...

TBH - most importantly I would love to have specifically all messages in FSX_MYS, as I believe there is probably a treasure trove of usefull stuf in there and having it locally would be nice so I can search :)

One day, who knows, it may be the only resource, or at least the only one keeping messages forever, so I would not mind being another repository for this info.

No bigy if not, but thought I should ask.

    Cheers,

I have sent in an applicationfor tqwnet a few days ago so maybe I'll

Keeping an archive of echo areas can be useful sometimes.
I'm not sure if hubs are able to do this for too long, but we'll see.
Some hubs if you do a %RESCAN it will give you all messages in the
    rescan.
Others may only give you the last couple hundred.
Also in some echos you will want to turn on dupe checking so that you
don't have tons of copies of the same message such ad bbs ads.

I dont know what R=9999999 means - but you can do (re)scan's yourself using areafix.

Send a netmail with %HELP in the body for instructions.

Yea, I did that. Most hubs, however, limit # of messages/days you can grab from the past. Makes sens, being a hub and not an archive.

I may have to snag straight from AgencyBBS maybe in parallel, as I'd think everything on fsxNet is on Avon's machine :)

I meant if you could allow full download of all messages as AreaFix will allow only specific max for # of messages/days (at least as per %HELP) ...

But don't worry, as someone mentioned earlier, being a hub, I am not 100% certain you even have all of them, so may be best to grab those direct off of AgencyBBS in one swoop. I have dupe detection on, so it should load only stuff I do not have.

    Cheers!

Are you suggesting that AREAFIX is limiting the number of messages available to you to rescan? What in %HELP is giving you that impression?

Sorry, pressed the wrong button and send the messages.

Clrghouz has 6 years worth of mail so far (I dont delete mail), and you should be able to (re)scan all of it if that's what you want. I'm sure others have done that already...

I must have then misread the help ... I guess just sending "%RESCAN" should automatically send all... I was reading too deep into the option w/ # of days, and noticed (if I recall correctly) it said 360 so I thought it was the limit.

    Sorry ;)

Try using %RESCAN without any other parameters. Usually this will dump everything the hub has to you.

That did the trick. I read too far into the options, without thinking of the default command on its own. :)
