  • Requesting guidance for joining FidoNet

    Hello everyone,

    I recently brought a Synchronet BBS online and I'm now setting it up to properly participate in FidoNet. I have configured the FidoNet address, NetMail and EchoMail directories, and created the required FIDOTEST sub-board in SCFG.

    Before proceeding with nodelist processing and EchoMail exchange, I would appreciate confirmation that my setup follows the expected standards for a new node, as well as any advice about prerequisites for formally joining a Fidonet region or zone.

    If there is a specific coordinator or contact I should reach out to for node application, routing details, or policy compliance, please let me know.

    Fidonet is regional, you'll want to get a Fido nodelist from https://www.darkrealms.ca/, then reach out to the nearest regional coordinator for assistance in getting a node number.

    hope this helps, I still haven't set it up my self, been trying to talk myself into joining, maybe I'll finally start the process :)
