The divorced mother of a 9-year-old stumbles into a gauntlet of
threatening events. With 'Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed' (Apple), Tatiana Maslany, whom you'll remember from 'Orphan Black', confirms her good eye
for gripping melodrama. Though I'd have preferred this 10-parter had
forgone its late extension to a second season, its sheer narrative
efficiency (no time-filling talkathons) made it a noticeable standout.
Well recommended.
