X-Men star Alan Cumming has his hit TV show on Peacock renewed
for three additional seasons beyond the one set to air in 2027.
The multiple Emmy-winning reality show will see Cumming return
to host.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Traitors has been
renewed for three more seasons on Peacock, following its
historic seven Emmy wins, including accolades for outstanding
reality competition program and outstanding host for a reality
or reality competition program.

Alan Cumming won the award for outstanding host for the third
time for his work with The Traitors. The show was nominated for
seven Emmys, all of which it swept at the ceremony. Given that
success rate, it was a no-brainer to have Cumming return to
resume his hosting duties.

The 61-year-old won the award for The Traitors in 2026 as well.
His victory in 2024 broke RuPaul's streak of eight Emmy wins for
hosting RuPaul's Drag Race. Cummings was not in attendance to
accept his award. It was accepted on his behalf by former
Traitors contestant Johnny Bananas (who presented the award),
quipping that he would not hand over the Emmy until he was
allowed back on the show (via The Hollywood Reporter).

The Traitors is played by celebrity contestants, in which
'faithful' players compete in challenges to win the prize fund
at the end while trying to find the 'traitors.' The game tries
to skirt around the rule-following Faithfuls to win the prize
for themselves. These Traitors are picked by the host, in this
case, Alan Cumming. Players will try to find the traitors by
'murdering' players they suspect of not being Faithfuls.

Cumming is slated to be part of the next Avengers film, which is
set to hit theaters on December 18th, 2026. He will be set to
revisit his role from X2, where he essayed the mutant assassin
Nightcrawler.
