Do you like SF? I'm currently re-reading my collection of Joshua Dann's novels and if you like something light - likeable characters, page
turners - I think you'd like his stuff.
First, the books written under his own name: Joshua Dann - Timeshare; Timeshare: Second Time Around; and Timeshare: A Time for War - although
they can be read as standalone books, I really enjoyed reading them as a trilogy in the correct sequence (based on publication date). The main character is John Surrey, a former LAPD officer, who gets hired as a security chief for a company called Timeshare which offers vacations in
the past. The first book centers on 1940 and is set in Hollywood where
we meet all kinds of classic movie stars like John Wayne and Humphrey
Bogart but also the likes of Ian Fleming before he has written the Bond books. The second book sees John trying to track down a client, a Spielbergesque movie director, who is looking for his roots and some
love in 1926 where we meet Al Capone, Ronald Reagan, Dorothy Parker and
J. Edgar Hoover. The third book sees John return to 1940 and play a part
in WWII, working alongside Ian Fleming again, and having several
meetings with Churchill.

so I haven't acquired it yet.)

study. The girlfriend volunteered to fly to Texas and speak to his class
about how real brown people feel about being called "chicanks" and
"latinks" but he might fail the class if she does.
This is outrageous. Whites are victims again and Trump does nothing.
Does Trump have any black people on staff? He shouldn't, he should only appoint white men.

semester and then became optional.
The real estate agents governing organisation also insigated a
mandatory Maori course for property sellers. One woman refused to do it
and fought the stupid idea through the courts for about three years,
but idiotically she lost and can now no longer be a real estate agent.
One government insanely deciced to rename all government oganisations
so that the Maroi equivalent was first on all logos, signage,
letterheads, etc. Millions of dollars wasted and then the next
government reversed that decision so that the more universally
understood English name came first, wasting yet more millions of
dollars as all the signage, etc. had to be changed yet again.

Austin, Texas, spent years trying to rename Magnolia Street into Martin Luther
King Way. Businesses all along its length were annoyed that a rename would require them to change everything from their letterhead and billboards to their official incorporation documents with the state. Eventually emotion won out and the street was renamed.
But "Martin Luther King Way" was a mouthful to say, so it wasn't long before it became commonly referred to as "MLK Way" and that easily transitioned to "Milky Way", which is now what everyone calls it. It's become so ubiquitous that new businesses use that as their actual address and the street signs marking the exit on the freeway now say Milky Way. No one, even the black community through which the street passes, references Martin Luther King anymore. The newer generations don't even know that was the original intent of
the name.
