My brain kept waffling on whether that was Heather Locklear or someone
else. I was pretty sure it wasn't Locklear but couldn't think who it was

Time Tunnel was the very first show where I was really disappointed when
it didn't get renewed. Of course, I was 8 or 9 at the time and not
exactly sophisticated in my tastes at the time ;-)

The idea of travelling in time really intrigued me at the time and, to
be honest, still does. I think that was the first science fiction I encountered, even before I started reading SF (or maybe at about the
same time).

Back in the 90s, someone created a movie by editing a couple of episodes
of Time Tunnel together and I watched it. I found myself marvelling at
how bad it was and how my tastes had changed since then. The concept of
time travel and what might be learned about the past if it were possible
still intrigues me but the execution of the original series really
wasn't that good. I'm not sure if the unaired pilot was a lot better but
I might have kept watching if they'd actually aired it.

The unaired pilot for the 1966 show just includes a few scenes some in a different order and character bits. It doesn?t change a thing about the storyline or the ending.
Some scenes removed were aired in later episodes.

Supposedly a second season which I?ve seen some storyboards for episodes of would have returned the boys home and sent them out on missions to correct
what once went wrong. Quantum Leap lifted this premise intact.

There are stills and some Home movies of a bunch of potted plants in the tunnel, which formed the basis of an ending that was used on the view
master. I have no idea if it was ever intended for anything else. Most
people guess that the idea would have been to move Doug and Tony from a prehistoric jungle to the tunnel.

I challenge almost every one of those ?facts? several of which are mutually contradictory, and even the number of facts they claim to present doesn?t lineup.
Little things like the fact that they had two sound stages. So did Star
Trek one for all the ship sets and one for the places they visited, same as
the time tunnel did. About the only thing they got right was the original
air date. If anybody cares enough, I could list them; I may do that for my group anyway.
