    wearing high healed shoes with stiletto heals while on the job in
    entirely inappropriate circumstances?

    Seriously, this is entirely STOOPID. There are women who get beaten up
    severely or are raped. The woman may be entirely innocent, having done
    nothing provocative, not a wife who has screaming matches with her
    husband 12 times a day. She needs safe temporary housing. SHe needs her
    medical bills paid.

    To benefit from these monies, it's not enough to be a victim. She must
    prove that she was targetted primarily for being a woman and not just
    for unfortunate circumstances of encountering a violent man.

    A woman could be severely beaten during a robbery. That's not
    gender-based violence. Her application would be denied.

    If she needs help, who the hell cares if the primary motive was A
    instead of B?

    I remember reading that the exact same thing - men wearing women's red
    high heels - was actually a thing in the US in the last years of Obama.
    A commandant at an army base made her soldiers do the same thing to show empathy to women or some such nonsense.

    If women are going to wear such ridiculous shoes of their own free will,
    why am I supposed to empathize? I have no trouble empathizing with
    people who have nastiness foisted upon them *against* their will but
    high heels aren't in that category.

    Making men wear such shoes is preposterous. Soldiers or cops or anyone
    else who does this voluntarily gets no pity from me unless they've had
    their careers threatened if they don't do it.
