As the link indicates, she issued a vague partial non-apology.
I also remember her recanting it at some point, but yeah, she
should have been suffered the penaltiyt for treason.
It wasn't vague. She apologized for the photoshoot, which was the
egregious thing. She declined to apologize for going at all, since her
goal was to talk peace and bring a quicker end to the war.
People who remember that era are probably never going to like her, but
she's not the worst villain.
