Pretty funny. He makes some good points, too.

Funny stuff
I never read the novels, but watching the movies, Snape was a favorite character because it was all Alan Rickman's performance, with those
scripts in the earliest movies giving him so little to work with till he finally got an important back story, adapted from later novels. Without
the back story, he always felt like a fully-drawn character.
This is why you hire a professional character actor.
In a weird coincidence, I've been re-watching early seasons of House M.D.
First season especially, conflict between House and Foreman often led to Foreman accusing House of racism, wink wink nudge nudge at the viewers
as the script was literally throwing "Network notes forced us to cast a
black character from the ghetto in the main cast" tv trope in the
viewer's face.
As the Harry Potter tv series (or play?) is going to miss the
opportunity for introspection, the comedian's points are all very well
taken.
How are they getting away with it given that J.K. Rowling had cast
authority? Tv series rights are always sold with initial adaptation
rights for movies, so it's not like this came up recently.
