Subject: [NEWS] Hulu orders "The Mob" hosted by Parker Posey (celebrity "reality" competition)
Why would any real celebrity want to be on silly drivel like this? They
don't need a tiny $250,000, unless it goes to a charity. (Most of them
are not celebrities at all, but idiots from other "reality" TV dross.)
Hulu Orders 'The Mob,' Hosted by Parker Posey,
From 'The Traitors' Producers
----------------------------------------------
Parker Posey isn't meant to live an uncomfortable life. That's why
she's hosting and executive producing a new reality competition
inside a lavish Italian villa - from the producers behind
"The Traitors."
Hulu announced Wednesday at its "Get Real" unscripted event that
it has given a series order to "The Mob," which will follow
celebrities as they check into the villa - and proceed to "shake
down, hustle and whack their way to win up to $250,000 in cash
prizes. Every episode, they will tackle mob movie-inspired jobs to
survive."
As part of the twist, the group of celebrities must vote to make
one of them the mob family "don" - giving that person absolute
power to decide "who makes money, who stays, and who ultimately
gets whacked." But will that don maintain the family's loyalty, or
will they ultimately be overthrown?
Celebrity cast for Season 1 of "The Mob" includes "The Sopranos"
star Aida Turturro, who knows a thing or two about a TV crime
family. Also on board: Willam Belli ("RuPaul's Drag Race"), Demi
Engemann ("The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives"), Maria Georgas
("Bachelor" Nation), Joe Gorga ("The Real Housewives of New
Jersey"), Harry Jowsey ("Let's Marry Harry"), Chelsea Lazkani
("Selling Sunset"), Debi Mazar ("Younger"), Bella Palk ("Love
Overboard"), Shane Parton ("Bachelor" Nation), rapper Romeo and
Bruno Tonioli ("Dancing With the Stars").
"The Traitors" producers Studio Lambert are behind "The Mob," which
is also from Primal Media. Executive producers for Studio Lambert
include Tim Harcourt, Jack Burgess, Niall O'Driscoll and Stephen
Lambert.
Adam Wood and Mat Steiner conceived the format for "The Mob," and
serve as executive producers for Primal Media along with David
Mortimer, chief executive officer of STV Studios. Posey is also
executive producer and Susan House is showrunner.
Posey most recently received Emmy, Golden Globe and Actor
nominations for her turn in "The White Lotus." She also landed a
Emmy nom as a guest star on "Mr. & Mrs. Smith." She's known for
her string of iconic indie film credits including "Party Girl,"
"Kicking and Screaming," "The Daytrippers," "The House of Yes" and
more, and also for her regular appearances in Christopher Guest
films like "Waiting for Guffman," "Best in Show," "A Mighty Wind"
and "For Your Consideration."
