Afyter an arduous workout, I watched:
Nothing.
What did you watch?
Over the past few days, I watched the latest Krapopolis, in which the
gang plays with a device bringing each of their ideal lives to life. Ubi posted a more detailed review a few days ago. Deliria's was the best,
though also the shortest. Deliria's my favorite character, though, so
I'm probably biased.
I enjoyed this, but I'm still finding the whole show rather slight and lightweight. I like adult animation, so it's watchable, but I don't know
if I'd recommend it to others.
I've also been sampling more reruns. Last night I watched some Bob's
Burgers reruns. I like this show when it becomes a showcase for stories
the kids are telling. Last night included a Mother's Day episode in
which a sick Linda had to miss the school's Mother's Day pageant, and
the kids told a bunch of whoppers about three amazing skits. They then
had a chance to view footage of the real event, and Linda declined
because she already knew she liked their version better.
What did everyone else watch?
Given the title of the post, I'm just going to mention what I watched on Tuesday ;-)
I watched RJ Decker, Season 1, Episode 8. I didn't have particularly
high expectations of this show, being indifferent to Scott Speedman, but
I'm actually enjoying the show. It kinda reminds me of Rockford Files in
its premise of an ex-con working as a private investigator but I never
watched Rockford Files that often back in the day so I can't really
comment on the parallels in detail. In any case, I like the show even if
it isn't brilliant and IMDB only rates it a 7.0.
This latest episode had Decker trying to solve a murder of a man who was hunting for Burmese pythons on a golf course who'd been hit on the head
by a blunt object. It turned out that a second murder took place very
close by and that was the key to unravelling the mystery once Decker
figured out how it was possible for the suspect to have committed both
murders in a very small time window.
The other thing I watched was the last several episodes of Galavant. I normally HATE it when shows do musical episodes - I'm looking at you,
Strange New Worlds - but, for some reason, it's not as annoying in
Galavant, probably because it's SUPPOSED to be a musical. I rather
enjoyed rewatching the show having not seen it since it was first aired
a decade ago. I was surprised at how much I'd forgotten. I was also
surprised to learn that the main creative mind behind it was Dan
Fogelman who later gave us This is US and now Paradise (among other
things). It's hard to imagine shows that were so different from one
another and I think all of them are well done.
