    Apparently, you've never heard of Contempt of Court or what judges can
    do to people who show contempt.

    Here's an excerpt from an information sheet I was given when I served
    last fall:

    Attire: Jurors must be dressed appropriately while in the courthouse.
    Although the judge will determine whether jurors' attire is
    appropriate, jurors should not wear shorts, short skirts, sagging
    pants, see-through or suggestive clothing, visible undergarments
    (including undershirts and tank tops), flip flops, house shoes,
    bandanas, headbands, hats/caps, or clothing with inappropriate or
    offensive advertisements or slogans.

    I posted that T-shirt comment as a joke ... hence the tongue-poking smiley.

    BUT, as far as I know (and I've never bothered to check), there is no
    actual dress code for jury duty, so what you wear is up to you. If the
    judge or lawyer doesn't like it, then that's their problem. At worst
    they will send you home to get different clothes, thus wasting one of
    your assigned days for jury duty.

    The New Zealand government website simply says "Smart casual,
    comfortable clothing is best". Some other countries do say "business
    casual", which in some places could exclude T-shirts.
