Popular CBS TV Show Sets End Date After 11 Seasons
--------------------------------------------------
One of CBS' most popular TV shows is officially coming to an end,
with an end date set now confirmed for a fan-favorite show.
When CBS show is set to end after 11 seasons?
Stephen Colbert's The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is set to
come to an end after 11 seasons. The show, which was announced to
be coming to an end last year, will officially have its last show
on May 21, 2026, according to a new report from Deadline.
While the broad May date was known for some time, an exact date
wasn't known for the show's final episode. Colbert will formally
announce the news during an episode of Late Night with Seth
Meyers, which is set to air on January 27, 2026, according to
LateNighter. The show was canceled in July, just a few days after
Colbert criticized Paramount Global's settlement of a lawsuit from
Donald Trump a "bigfatbribe."
Although the news was never attributed to that, fans online
believed that the move was retaliatory. Paramount has denied the
news, though, and noted that the decision to cancel the show was
simply a financial decision, and was not related to the show's
performance or any other circumstances.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is a continuation of CBS' Late
Show franchise, which began with the legendary Late Show with
David Letterman. Colbert took over for Letterman in 2014, and
previously hosted The Colbert Report prior to that. The Late Show
with Stephen Colbert ran for 11 seasons, airing over
1,700 episodes throughout its run time.
