I watched:
What did you watch?
Over the last several days I've worked my way thru the rest of season 1
of 'The Boys' and up thru season 2 episode 6. Its turning in to a slog
to watch, it is just so unrelentingly grim.
What did you watch?
I went all South Parky. I watched Cred, a South Park special from a few >years ago. I've definitely seen parts of it before, but I didn't
remember the overall plot. Did I watch it while stoned, or am I just
getting old?
It takes a look at out-of-control influencer culture. It concludes that >there are essentially no protections for children and that preparing the >children themselves is hopeless, which implies that this can't be fixed >without top-down intervention. It's an interesting perspective from the
same guys who once gave us Bigger, Longer, and Uncut to mock the idea
that bad stuff on a TV show was responsible for influencing children...
but Trey and Matt are older, and also times have changed.
It's much, much easier now for children to trip over things which will
hurt them, so it seems a reasonable position to revise.

Our kids are getting worse.

They don't have an opinion on anything. It's all fair game for farce.
Speaking of which, scientists identified an Amish community in Indiana
that is the least immuno-compromised/least asthmatic/least allergic in
the United States. This proves that everything that parents have done to children and failed to do for children over the last three centuries
has harmed them.

Hey, thanks for asking!
To Tell the Truth
An old episode with a young up-and-coming magician nobody had ever heard of or seen before. I think his name was Doug Henning.
An old episode with an old up-and-coming popcorn maker nobody had ever
heard of or seen before. I think his name was Orville Redenbacher.
\S/UPERDUPERMAN 2025
This was OK. Not great but not as terrible as everything has been since
1978. I’d probably put it on a par with Superman 2, which was half as good as Superman the movie. The Nookie was better than I thought he’d be as Guy Gardner although I have no idea why they decided to make him blonde instead of carrot top orange. Hawkgirl brought nothing to the party.
\S/tupidgirl just offended me.
I wish Arthur were here to discuss this. :-(

Well, she was cute. That's something.
\S/tupidgirl just offended me.
That's what they want her to do for some inexplicable reason. They're actually
writing the character as a stupid, offensive, complete mess. I guess they figure if they're stuck with a pretty blonde white girl and can't get away with a race swap, their only alternative is to make the audience hate her.
I wish Arthur were here to discuss this. :-(

I'm not sure I'd say that. They did apologize to Al Gore for mocking
climate change, which implies they revised a real position.

That doesn't surprise me a bit. We eat "food products" instead of food, >design our lives around avoiding exercise, make our kids start their
lives in harmful institutions, and now we've started dating text
generating apps who tell us we're wonderful.
I wish I'd known more about the dangers of screens before my son was
born. We just didn't know. I like screens a lot, as you can probaby
guess from my participation in this group, but I'm not at all sure
they're good for us.
I've started to wonder if the only good place to rear children would be
some kind of artifical 1960s village. I'm not sure what the peak spot
would be. It's definitely worth noting that people don't actually get >happier as our lives apparently improve.

If she's slutty, why would they hate her?!! ;p
Slutty is fine, but sloppy drunk and slutty is just yuck.

Was Guy's hair orange? I thought it was strawberry blond.

I am not sure if he's who I am thinking of, but he's been around since at least the 1980's and was a member of Jack Kirby's "The New Gods".

The bimbo who was secretly banging Jimmy Oleson was new.
I hated Ma Kent.
Why did the Kents seem to be retarded?
Metamorpho left me underwhelmed.
He seemed young in the movie. He's middle-aged in the comics, is he not?

Pumpkin orange. And ridiculously over muscled because he's had the ring >working on him. Carrot Top would have been perfect casting.

Yeah, that was definitely a Kirby design
Wiki says he first appeared in 1997

That was Miss Tessmacher, who Valerie Perine played in Superman 1978
I hated Ma Kent.

No idea but she sure did
Metamorpho left me underwhelmed.

Terrific must’ve been an addition to the comics after I stopped reading them.

I hated Ma Kent. Metamorpho left me underwhelmed. There was so little left
of the city of Metropolis at the end I would think it would be easier to start over somewhere else.
