    This is a probable cause hearing. The prosecutor's witness is the police officer who wasn't sure if he was chasing the right suspect and lost the vehicle while following. The prosecutor repeatedly had the cop introduce hearsay statements from a clerk, who wasn't a witness. Both the defense
    and judge oppose the hearsay. At one point, the defense attorney, with
    three decades of experience, suggests a way to phrase a question so
    hearsay isn't elicited. I thought that was funny.
