Verily, in article <UBI20250815@dont-email.me>, did weberm@polaris.net
    deliver unto us this message:

    I watched the ST:SNW and ST:LD crossover.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds S02E07 "Those Old Scientists"

This does a pretty good job of marrying the two shows' different vibes.
The show even has a little fun with it.

MARINER: Have you noticed how slowly everybody talks here?
    BOIMLER: Yeah, and *quietly*.

The real difference is comedic vs. dramatic acting, of course, and SNW
is nothing if not dramatic. It's often downright operatic. There are
also several scenes where the two future ensigns are doing comedic
acting while everyone else is doing dramatic acting, which is fun. It
reminds me of some of the work on Kevin Can F**k Himself, though much
    less fraught.

I can't help noticing that Boimler did, in fact, change the future. Pike
now plans to give the Orions credit for discovering the portal, while
the Enterprise had the credit the first time around. Does this change literally nothing else? That's very odd, especially given that one of
this science vessel's crew members is an ancestor of one of the
Cerritos' crew. I think the ending was done with sitcom logic, where
    nothing ever *really* matters.

I also watched some more Lower Decks.

S4.E2 ? I Have No Bones Yet I Must Flee: The gang must stop an adorable monster.

S4.E3 ? In the Cradle of Vexilon: Boimler's in charge of the away
mission. Can he handle it? Of course not.

S4.E4 ? Something Borrowed, Something Green: Everyone heads to Orion for
a wedding in Tendi's family -- her pirate syndicate family.

S4.E5 ? Empathological Fallacies: The whole crew's going nuts again.
Everyone thinks it's the visiting Betazoids.
