    Fringe S4E07 'Wallflower'

IMDb sez: "A manhunt begins for an invisible killer who steals human pigmentation."
Fox Publicity is a little more forthcoming: "When a man mysteriously
dies by an invisible force, his body rapidly begins turning ghostly
white. The Fringe team learns that this is not an isolated incident, and there's evidence that links the predator to someone who passed away with
an unknown genetic disorder. Meanwhile, Olivia suffers from migraines."

The glyphs for this episode spell out: DAVID

Walter refers to the killing of albinos in east Africa and the using of
body parts in rituals. This is not imaginary. To the present day an
occasional news report from the region refers to the murder of an albino
    for such reasons.

When Walter shows Olivia and Lincoln the octopus, he references the
    Beatles song: Octopus's Garden.

Walter is using the same mouse maze that Faraday used in Lost. Both
shows were created by J.J. Abrams.

Dr. Bishop uses 'octopi' as a plural for octopus. Octopi is a plural
using Latin pluralization. Octopus is Greek in origin, the plural being octopodes. English has its own pluralization rules, therefore, octopuses
is the correct form in the English language.

FBI Agent Tim: You're not my prisoner.
Peter Bishop: So, what, then? You're my bodyguard?
FBI Agent Tim: Maybe just imagine I'm a... friend.
Peter Bishop: Yeah, 'cause every 32-year-old man needs a friend to
chaperone him while he's underwear shopping.

    What Did You Watch?

Yesterday, I didn't really watch soaps (I think I had CBS soaps on,
until they interrupted Y&R with another irrelevant "Special Report"
broadcast break-in, and so then I turned CBS off). I did finish off
season #2 of "School Spirits", and a LMN flick, yesterday:

    School Spirits (Pee+) - Ep's #2.7 & 2.8, the "season finale" (as, after
the fact, this show was renewed for a third and hopefully final season).
Yuck - in one of these episodes, we get totally gratuitous butt
nudity from Milo Manheim - I really did not need this!! (We also get
almost partial nudity from Peyton List The Younger, but just not quite!)
I was pleased as punch that they brought Dawn (RaeAnne Boon) back
for a flashback scene in one season #2 episode, but was quite annoyed
that a lot of the other ghosts from season #1 were either totally
ignored (like the theater geek ghost played by Zoe Christie) or were
almost totally shelved (e.g. the two "background ghosts" from the
"support group" from season #1 who show up very briefly in the middle of season #2 but who are never seen again before or after that).
In these episodes, we finally get some answers as to what Mr. Martin
and Janet Hamilton were up to as ghosts, and a little bit more about how
they came to be ghosts in the first place.
Indeed, the season finale was a rather schizophrenic affair,
seemingly working at cross purposes, to: 1) wrap up all of the show's
main storylines, and 2) not wrap everything up so there would be
    something left for "season #3".
It would seem that impulse #1 mostly won out, as the finale mostly
wraps things up - it gets both Janet-as-Maddie, and later Mr.
Martin-as-Mr. Anderson, back to the school. As a result of this, Mr.
Anderson is able to reinhabit his body and eject Ghost-Mr. Martin from
it. (Ironically, this will put the real Mr. Anderson in ever more legal trouble as Mr. Martin-as-Mr. Anderson commit crimes like grand theft auto!)
The "cliffhanger" going into the end of this episode is whether
Maddie gets her body back, and as to whether any of the ghosts get to
finally "cross over". I won't spoil that, except to say one ghost does
get the opportunity to "cross over", and even though the show would lose
a marquee character/actor in the process, they shouldn't second-guess themselves, and should have that character absent from season #3.
But they throw in a few twists (including one big one) at the end of
the finale, to set up for possible season #3 storylines.
I would strongly urge the people behind this show to realize that a
third season is a gift - they should use it to fully wrap up this show's (remaining) storylines, and not do anything dumb like use season #3's
finale to try and set up a season #4. Just use the added time to fully
    wrap this show up!

The Secret Life of My Other Wife (LMN) - While I liked the lead (Emma
Johnson) of this one, I didn't care for its overall story - it was both unbelievable and not really suspenseful.
Down on her luck waitress (Johnson) is rescued from a vengeful
scuzzball customer by a seemingly nice guy (Giles Panton) - this being a Lifetime flick, this can only mean that this "nice guy" will turn out to
be an even bigger creep and psycho than the attacking customer!
The first "red flag" is when the dude tells the waitress that he
already has two wives (Alana Hawley Purvis and Teagan Vincze)! Why she
doesn't goes running, screaming, from the dude at this point is the
first red flag for the viewer that this flick doesn't have an ounce of believability!
So, rather than run away, life conspires(?...) against the waitress, forcing her to move in with this dude and his two wives.
Soon enough, another shady character turns up, claiming to be the
brother of the dude's most recent previous "girlfriend", and telling the waitress that the sister has been missing ever since - he wants the
waitress to poke around and find out what happened to his sister.
    What could possibly go wrong?!!...
Well, as this flick sports no surprises, exactly what you'd expect
to go wrong does go wrong.
Rather than being "fun", this one was more of a chore, as the dumb waitress gets herself deeper and deeper into this mess, without so much
as a hint to a viable "exit strategy".

    What Did You Watch?

Sorry if duplicate. I'm having problems with posting again.

This is a catch up post. Over the last couple of days I watched:

Batman (4K disc) 1989 movie directed by Tim Burton and starring Mr. Mom
as Batman and Jack Nicholson as The Joker. Holds up great.

Batman Returns (4K disc) 1992 sequel directed by Tim Burton. Mr. Mom
returns to do battle with Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer) and The Penguin
(Danny Devito). Even better than the first one.

Batman Forever (4K disc) 1995 sequel directed by Joel Schumacher which
finds Val Kilmer putting on the cape and cowl to do battle against Jim Carrey's Riddler and Tommy Lee Jones' Two-Face, with help from his
    sidekick Robin (Chris O'Donnell).

Batman and Robin (4K disc) 1997 sequel once again directed by Joel
Schumacher and this time starring George Clooney as George Clooney. I
wish they could have found an actor to play Batman in this one, but
whatever. I was going to listen to the commentary track but after about
40 seconds of Schumacher blathering on, I turned off the commentary and decided to just suffer through the movie's dialogue.

Brightburn (4K disc) 2019 movie produced by James Gunn, about a
spaceship that crash lands on a farm where a couple find a baby inside
the spaceship and raise the orphaned child as their own. Once the alien
child becomes a young boy he develops super powers like flight, invulnerability, and heat vision. The young superpowered boy then uses
his super powers to brutally murder everyone around him. What did you
think he was going to do? It's a pretty good movie, but I watched with
a horrible commentary track. A few minutes in, I could tell the
commentary wasn't any good, but I decided to stick with it hoping it
would get better, but it never did. The director and friends on the commentary kept cracking unfunny jokes which they thought were
hilarious, but became annoying real fast. Anyway, the movie itself is good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6eB0JT1DI4

Predator: Killer of Killers (Hulu) Animated movie set in the Predator
universe directed by Dan Trachtenberg ("Prey" and the upcoming
"Predator: Badlands). The movie shows Predators coming to Earth during
three distinct time periods in the past (ancient Vikings, feudal Japan,
and WWII) to hunt the killer of killers. I can't say more without
getting into spoilers. But overall, I liked it, and I especially liked
the final shot. I am now really looking forward to what's going to go
down in Predator: Badlands. Side note, Louis Ozawa Changchien, who
played the Yakuza in "Predators" also voiced the main characters in the
feudal Japan segment, playing his character's own ancestors. And now
that I think about it, it makes even more sense that the same people
would be connected in those two movies.

Ballerina (theatrical) Latest movie in the John Wick franchise. Ana de
Armas stars as a young woman working for the same organization that
raised and trained John Wick. It fronts as a ballerina school run by
Anjelica Huston, but they really train assassins. Ana de Armas was
brought to them as a young girl after by Winston (Ian McShane) following
the murder of her parents. Now an adult and trained killer herself she
picks up the trail of the cult that murdered her father and sets out for revenge. Is the movie any good? Yes!!! The movie is set during the
events of John Wick 3 which allows for John Wick, Winston, and Charon
(Lance Reddick in his final film role) to all make an appearance. This
movie is an absolute must for fans of the John Wick franchise, but Ana
is not just a female John Wick. She's her own character with her own
motives. Yes, she's a hit woman out for revenge, but I would not call
    her a John Wick clone.

Walter refers to the killing of albinos in east Africa and the using of
body parts in rituals. This is not imaginary. To the present day an occasional news report from the region refers to the murder of an albino
    for such reasons.
