Hi Fellow denizens of rasfw.
Finished reading novel first of a series apparently
by Mai Cortland. Set in the Republic of Payton, senatorial
nobles very wealthy rule 8 provinces.
They worship 5 Gods and this novel is concerned
with the High Priestess of the God of Truth and her
relationship with the Praetorian an official charged
with protection of the Senate. The Senate is isolated
in the old Palace of the old kings who called magic
to build the empire but the last king was mad and nearly
deathless.
This happens to be a beautiful book except for the
text: marbled end papers, great illustration of the main
venue on the inside, front and back covers...

from Pennsylvania Sold at $32.99. Entangled has a online
presence.
Sorry to say this is not a favorite of mine and
I will not be picking out but avoiding Mai Cortland
or Meredith Ireland whatever the name may be...
