Everybody in the world, for the part that was described that way (read
it again).
In August 2028 the eclipse will be visible from the city of Dunedin
(Opotiki) in the South Island of Aotearoa. All hotels have been booked
out for some time over two years in advance.

?(End of the American Dream)? It is not often that we get to experience
three major celestial events on the exact same day. On August 12th, a
rare parade of 6 planets will be visible before sunrise. Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Saturn, and Neptune will all be lined up across the
morning sky.?
"The only planet that we will not get to see will be Venus.
Subsequently, there will be a spectacular total solar eclipse that will
be visible in much of the northern hemisphere. And after the Sun goes
down, the heavens will be teeming with shooting stars during the peak of
the Perseid Meteor Shower. It truly will be one of the most memorable
days that astronomers have experienced in a long time."
It will probably rain that morning here in South Texas.

Texas definitely isn't in Spain, Iceland, Greenland (not yet).
Northern Russia is more likely.

Nice try to direct clicks to a goofy right-wing website by
posting year-old news.
The parade was last year. The next is in 2040.

I saw both of the recent eclipses that passed over the US, so I'm good
for the moment.
The second one, I was able to book rooms just 5 days in advance, in
northern Vermont. $500/night Up till the last week, it was assumed
to be clouded out, but it turned out to be perfectly clear.
The first one I saw from a cruise ship out in the Atlantic, and was
probably one of the last people to see it. Katy Perry was onboard,
and sand 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' beforehand.

I was 400-500 miles out to saw, I think around 29.107, -72.092.
Conditions were not ideal, with high whispy clouds. Occasionally the
suns disk was unidentifiable. The ship, was clearly trying to get under
clear skies and largely did.
When totality came, it got about as dark as 20 minutes after sunset. The occulted disk of the sun was clearly visible, the corona much less so
due to clouding, even with binoculars. I noticed no stars. At the end,
we got a wonderful Diamond ring effect.
The ship.
I'm on Oasia of the Seas, one of the largest cruise ships in the world.
This is mass market cruising. My cabin cost $1860 for two, for a week.
It's one of the cheapest, an 'inside' cabin. However,we also had
airfare, and signed up for unlimited internet, booze, luxury dining and
a bunch of excursions in the Bahamas, which more than doubles the price.
Celebs.
DNCE is on board, along with Bonnie Tyler. I wasn't really aware of the former before the trip. They did a concert in the amphitheater in the
stern before the eclipse, ending with BT singing Total Eclipse of the
Heart just as first contact was made, so technically she did sing it
during the eclipse.
I was on the stern of deck 16, and could look, vertically down onto the
stage 11 floors down, and sort of hear the concert. Afterwards, the band
and BT occupied two cordoned off VIP areas either side of me to watch
the eclipse.. BT was about 12 feet from me, and was asking when it would start, and when she had to put on her glasses. We were At abou 70%
coverage at that point, and yelled at her to them on NOW and look at the
sun. She did so, and screamed in astonishment.
Both BT and the band were cheerful and friendly, posing for selfies,
etc. the whole crowd on that deck was relaxed, happy, and had a good
time, and was not overly dense.
Thai was not my ideal for viewing an eclipse, but it was pretty good.
End quote from pt 2017.
The 2024 eclipse in Vermont, viewed from the back yard of a gas
station in West Burke, was a far better viewing experience, with
very clear skies, and a group of astronomy nerds.

Clearly, my memory of the artist was faulty. But yes.
