• [PSA] Butcher - Harry Dresden #18 out in a few weeks

From Tony Nance@3:633/10 to All on Mon Jan 5 10:58:49 2026
I suspect I am the only person here who did not know Harry Dresden #18
"Twelve Months" is being released on Jan 20. But just in case...I
    mention it now.

Tony, who will skim #17 Battle Ground, but remembers it as a book-long
series of battles and more battles, with some pretty huge consequences

Oh, I'd completely lost track of that series. Ghost Story was odd, and
(like many) I was downright put off by Skin Game. If he's back in the
groove, maybe I'll check it out.

Um, not the only one. I thought he was dead or done.

Oh yeah! I had forgotten about that! Hopefully he's back on schedule
after his issues. Would love to have another Cinder Spire too...

    Issues?

While I did buy #17, I set #16 (Peace Talks) down about midway
and never picked it up again. Probably should get that back out
of the box in storage and try again.

A painful divorce as I dimly understand it. In general there's turbulence >before those too...

Some authors use those for inspiration. As I recall, the jerk victim in A
is for Alibi was based on Sue Grafton's ex.

That's understandable - 6 years between #15 and the tightly spaced
    releases of #16 & #17, then over 5 years until #18.

Hopefully he's back on schedule after his issues. Would love to have another Cinder Spire too...

I was luke-warm on #1, but I should pick up the second one (which came
    out 8 years after #1).

Oh, I'd completely lost track of that series.

As did I, until this morning.

Interesting. Do you recall what the general objections were to Skin
Game? I didn't think it was amongst the best in the series, but I
enjoyed it, and I thought the scene with Hades was excellent.
