Miss-spell the author's name on one volume's spine mid-series. That
    always entertains.

I once read a book I liked by Roberta Heinlein.

I wonder what ever happened to her? Probably moved to Romance for the
    money.

It seemed to me poor Robert Asprin got bit by that more than once.

Misspelling titles is also good: back in the summer I saw a copy of Rouge

Every volume of the eye-wateringly expensive Virginia Edition spells
Heinlein's name correctly _as the author's name_... but the two volumes
of his screen writing omit the second _e_ in the title of the book.
(Cover and title pages are correct.)

Are you referring to his name on the cover? I would have to see more

Check both the cover and the spine. I haven't looked at the book for
decades, but I think the typo was on the spine only.

I don't have a copy; I was looking at the entry for that edition in the
ISFDB. Unfortunately, the spine does not appear (nor does it for any
other edition - I have a vague memory that the "Rouge Queen" typo was on
a spine, but I don't know which edition).

I ran across that very edition of "Rouge Queen" the last time I was at a
used book store, and on the spine it does indeed look like a "q" instead
    of a "g".[1]

I do have a book that the spine says was written by Louis McMaster Bujold.

    Tony
[1] I didn't buy it, but maybe I will next time, just for the novelty of
    it.
