    All it takes is one 4-wire patch cable in the path to limit you to
    10BaseT (10 Mbit/1Mbyte).

    Just checked on my ISP's "speed test" and that's mbps (mega bits per
    second)

    Which is pretty much full speed for a 1Gb LAN connection, given
    packet overhead et alia.
