2009: The Horrible Histories TV show debuts, Britons are treated to a Giles-worthy winter, and police decline to investigate the cash for
influence incident so that they might better focus on the custard-tossing scandal rocking the nation.

I receive _Anathem_ as a Christmas present, and was done with it by
the 29th. Strangely, I appear not to have read anything by him since.

So many books, so little time.

    Just the Stephenson, I think.

Just the Reynolds and only recently. I'm catching up!

The Stephenson, (unfinished and forgotten), the brilliant 5 star
Reynolds tale of generation ships, (most in hibernation), and the 4 star McAuley. Gardens of the Sun, the second in MacAuley's Quiet War trilogy,
was just as good, but the resolution in the third, In the Mouth of the
Whale, was a disappointment for me.

Just the Reynolds, and just this past January, too. It was great.
