The Dallergut Dream-Making District
is a novel by Miyi Lee translated by
Sandy Joosun Lee from the Korean.
It recounts the daily life of an employee at the
Dallergut Dream Department Store and her
contacts with the operator of the store and her
fellow employees. She has been when the
story opens at the DDDS for about a year and
is waiting for a salary review.
We catch a glimpse of the complexity of
this which is a Dream World which we would
visit when asleep to select from the many
dreams on offer in all sorts of categories.
It is a myth-filled land as one Nicolas
lives opposite the Dream District on the Mountain
of Million Year Snow from which he ventures
yearly to shower gifts on children. We have
other non-human characters as well.
I think for some it will be an enjoyable
read and it was a million copy edition in
Korean. It is a small book of only 292 pages
which includes some after notes by the translator.
I enjoyed it but i found it at the SFPL-Main in
the new SpecFic section. but it cost $18.99 according to the URL below
