Therea re no details yet, so it's unknown if the new show is a sequel, spin-off, reboot, remake, etc. (Ignore the headline - lazy
"journalists" use the word "reboot" for everything that gets
    ressurected, rather than actual reboots.)

Stargate Gets New Prime Video Sci-Fi Reboot
    From WandaVision Creator, Details Revealed
    -------------------------------------------
Stargate is returning to the screen with a new reboot. The upcoming
series will be helmed by the WandaVision creator.

According to Variety, Jac Schaeffer is developing a new Stargate TV
series for Amazon MGM Studios. The project is part of Schaeffer's
recent three-year television overall deal with Amazon MGM.

Schaeffer is best known for work in the MCU, creating the Disney+
television miniseries WandaVision and its spin-off series Agatha All
Along. She also co-wrote the initial story for the 2021 film Black
Widow. Her credits also include the 2009 sci-fi romance TiMER and
the Disney comedy short Olaf's Frozen Adventure.

Most recently, Schaeffer served as executive producer on the MCU's
upcoming series, VisionQuest, a spin-off of WandaVision.

What else do we know about the new Stargate show?
Variety cites sources confirming a writers' room for the new show is
expected to begin work soon. Schaeffer is also serving as the
executive producer alongside Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell for
    Safehouse Pictures.

The upcoming series is still in early development. So, there have
been no major updates about the plot or cast. The project marks
Amazon's second attempt to reboot the franchise.

Martin Gero, the co-executive producer for Stargate Atlantis, was
reportedly working on a new television installment in the franchise.
However, Amazon ultimately axed the show.

The franchise began with the 1994 sci-fi action-adventure film of
the same name directed by Roland Emmerich. The story centers on the
titular device that can create a wormhole, enabling intergalactic
travel. Multiple movies and television shows have since been
released as part of the franchise.

Stargate SG-1 was the first TV installment, followed by two sequel
movies, Stargate Infinity and Stargate: Continuum. Other television
series include Atlantis, Stargate Universe, the animated show
    Stargate Infinity, and Stargate Origins.

It makes no difference as long as the two creators still have nothing to
do with the production. I don't know who they pissed off but give them a chance.

This is Amazon's MO - they want total creative control over the actual authors/creators, even though Amazon Prime Video has shown that they
really have no idea what they are doing....

I never watched SG: Atlantis when it was on TV and have been watching it
now. I really miss the TV scifi of the 90s and early 00s. I'm going to
be hopeful about this new SG project which is short on details.

Maybe a bad sign that I was never interested enough to watch any of
these. Never even heard of the scifi movie. I'll add TiMER to my
    watchlist. IMDB score of 6.4.

Not interested in VisionQuest either even thought it is more interesting
to me than the other series. These 10 ep slogfests really aren't my thing.

    Sigh.
