• Strange New Worlds WORST Episode YET? This Is More Than A JOKE!

From Ubiquitous@3:633/10 to All on Sat Aug 8 09:42:28 2026
Star Trek Strange New Worlds Season 4 Episode 3 "Human Best Friend" sends
the Enterprise crew to pleasure planet Cesnar Grand where an intoxicating atmosphere produces a Hangover-style blackout comedy ? with Captain Pike getting a face tattoo before peace negotiations, Spock hallucinating conversations with Kirk in scenes edging toward romantic subtext, and Number One performing a Klingon opera version of "Total Eclipse of the Heart." The episode earns a 4 out of 10 for replacing competent Starfleet officers with punchlines in a ten-episode season that can't afford to spend a full hour undermining characters it needs the audience to trust. Three episodes in, Strange New Worlds Season 4 has borrowed from The Hangover, Event Horizon,
and Doctor Who ? and has yet to produce a single hour that feels like Star Trek first.

That?s a common misconception. It was actually an ancient Klingon blood-sacrifice ritual called ?Totally Clips Off The Heart?.

Actually, they were singing an ancient Klingon blood sacrificial called "Totally Clips Off the Heart".

I haven't been watching the show, but after the next episode you'll
probably be claiming episode 3 was great ... because episode 5 is the
idiotic puppet episode that completely destroys any remote semblance of believeability in the show thanks to the fools in charge having run out
    of any sensible ideas. :-\

And there's still another entire season to go yet, so it's anyone's
guess what even lower levels of stupidity they'll sink to. Star Trek is
yet another once-great frasnchise that has been killed by talentless
idiots in charge trying to stuff their own pockets full of money. :-(

I want the whole song and a music video. :)

I also haven't been watching the show. I heard about the puppet episode
and also the black and white "Casablanca" episode. Is it just that the
writers want to do holodeck episodes but can't because the holodeck
doesn't exist yet, so they have to come up with stupid gimmicks to work
around the lack of holodeck (rather than simply not doing stupid
    holodeck type episodes)?

Not having a holodeck didn't stop the original show - they simply
visited cowboy planet, gangster planet, Greek Gods planet, etc. :-)
