Pity he missed. She's very annoying.

    disagree. Kate is a Lethbridge-Stewart.

Same surname, but completely different in character to the Brigadier.

    I can't stand her.

I wonder if maybe RTD agrees with you? This story portrays her as sleep deprived and addicted to prescription antidepressants. She wasn?t even
the one who stopped the sea devils. That was the sinister conspiracy
she spent most of the story opposing. And that?s before the final scene showing her threatening to shoot a random litter lout.

If that?s a character RTD likes, I?d hate to see how he writes someone
    he hates.

"I?d hate to see how he writes someone he hates."

Just look at the Doctor character himself. RTD largely turned him into
a rather pathetic character who had to be 'saved' by his more
intelligent companions, then turned *him* into a woman, and then a gay
black man. RTD obviously hates the Doctor. :-\

    Well, I was partly right.

    Well done.

I got my guesses wrong...Barclay's child played no part in
the plot at all. Plus we didn't get any human-fish lizard
    offspring... well, not yet anyway!

Kate Lethbridge Stewart was so poorly written Alistair would be
    turning in his grave.

And THAT ending! Why? Just why?!

The sad thing is, that old hack RTD clearly thinks that final
scene on the beach is cool. It's fucking awful. So what, we now
all go out and shoot people because they throw a plastic bottle
    on the ground?!

For me, Doctor Who worked better when the companions were
simply there to be the companion and have everything explained
to them. The minute they became the special ones, with families
we were supposed to care about, the show lost its focus on
what it was supposed to be about.

then turned him into a woman,

RTD didn't turn the Doctor into a woman, that was Chris
Chibnall... although I'm sure if he'd been around at the
time he would have done! Once Steven Moffat laid laid the
groundwork it was only a matter of time...
