    The old arch rivals size one another up.

    Was there conversation? Great picture, and Donkey looks afraid.

    I don't know if it qualified as conversation... but words were spoken.

    I suppose one could consider it a "poetry slam"... if one is generous in their definition of what constitutes a poem.

    After sizing one another up, Will opened with:

    You want it dark, when our Sunlight would play
    and the land's rough surface would waken
    to the lush of greens, under a blue day.
    You want it dark and bluer still. Just when

    Fake! Donkey could never write that. It should be more like "Want
    dark, sunlight. Rough to lush. Blue day. Dark blue. When.

    We look to turn on a yellow light switch,
    and unstitch your hallways of dreary shades
    you fastened our eyelids by. You hitch
    us tight to darkness till the Sun fades.

    Yellow light, hallways shades, fastened. Eyelids. Till the sun.

    Ours was black sleep prolonged, underneath
    one's sullen art, creased into sin.
    Though we resist with our laughter's teeth,
    biting through your bitter heart's skin--

    Black. Underneath. Art creased. Resist teeth, skin.

    PJR picked himself off the floor, pinched his nostrils tight, and
    responded with the following:

    Oops ama has'sum spee'n poo poo imi didee;
    oops ama has'sum stinki phew.

    We have never been fond of PJR's poems, but this one is better than some
    he has offered.

    Klap trap. Klap trap. Klap trap Haddock and docks
    the cold unspeaking stars walk shoddy-sleeved
    And you watched me as a deep blue slug,
    Phew phoohey! Pew pheweew“oey ding dong sore.

    True but wordy.

    Oops ama has'sum spee'n poo poo imi didee;
    oops ama has'sum stinki phew.

    Much better.

    Round One was considered to be a draw.
    The Donkey can't draw.
