• Nyssa, the companion who packed

From Melissa Hollingsworth@3:633/280.2 to All on Sun Aug 17 23:48:32 2025

I was just watching a retrospective of Five, and I got to thinking about Nyssa. Most of the companions wear the same thing every week, unless the Doctor provides them with a costume from the TARDIS wardrobe. Nyssa
wears a variety of appropriate clothing, always in the style of her
    home.

From this I infer that Nyssa had enough sense to pack a suitcase or two
before joining the TARDIS team. Did anyone else?

Other companions were seen in different outfits, but the others I can
think of were all from Earth. The Doctor spends so much time on Earth
that it probably wasn't a big deal either way. Nyssa, by contrast, had a coordinated wardrobe.

Were there any other companions who bothered to pack? It could be
clothing or anything else, maybe hobby gear or something.

    Have you watched Logopolis?

Nyssa was taken from Traken by the Master who had taken over the body of
her father. Oh, damn, I've ruined the ending of The Keeper of Traken for
    you now.

Sarah Jane Smith. Leela. Peri? I think all of her swimming costumes were different colours. Hum...

Nah, I've seen it. Multiple times, in fact.

One does wonder when she found the time to pack, but the evidence is
    there on the screen. :D

Nyssa's outfits weren't from the TARDIS wardrobe. That's my not- entirely-serious point. She is always dressed in clothing appropriate
for weather and events, and it's always maroon and in the style of her
    home.

Were there any other companions who bothered to pack? It could be
clothing or anything else, maybe hobby gear or something.

Sarah Jane Smith. Leela. Peri? I think all of her swimming costumes were different colours. Hum...

Sarah Jane was from Earth and wore all different outfits, probably from
the TARDIS wardrobe or acquired as needed, not selections from her own coordinated wardrobe. Leela wore the same outfit all the time, so I'm
not sure why you mention her.

Peri might potentially qualify. I never saw Peri join the Doctor.

Nyssa's the only one I can think of who brought her own stuff.

    From Traken via the Watcher?

I imagine the Watcher turning up, and Nyssa saying that she's happy to
go with him but just needs to pack a few things first... and the Watcher stands there like "WTF? This has never happened before," but his face
    glows so Nyssa can't tell.

    Good for her.

Actually, Donna did go home in that episode, we got to see her
Mum and Wilf... Donna didn't go off in the TARDIS until the end
of that episode (waving at Wilf from the sky) which IIRC was a
different day to the day she bumped into the Doctor... SO, it's
quite possible she packed clothes off-screen.

    There was no husband.

You did watch "The Runaway Bride" right?

Actually, Donna did go home in that episode, we got to see her
Mum and Wilf... Donna didn't go off in the TARDIS until the end
of that episode (waving at Wilf from the sky) which IIRC was a

Hmm! I thought it was same day .... but yes, you're correct, as we did
see Wilf up on the roof.

    there to be kids!!).

Daughter? Donna never gave birth to a daughter. She gave birth to a son

Well, in Greece, Rose or Triantafyllos is a man's name, so he's
    definitely her son.

Not unless they had be sexually groomed by the perverted writer.

Why do you think parents won't let their children watch this show any more?

I think it's possible that the person responsible for that
comment has been groomed alright... by men in cassocks with
    easy access rear openings.

I don't think he's Roman Catholic. He's evangelical... Oh, wait, Jesus
Army. Then again there's also the Church of the Papal Mainframe.

Why do you think parents won't let their children watch
    this show any more?

I'd happily let my children watch the show. (Not that they
need my permission.) Unfortunately, I couldn't pay them to
    watch it now!

I was referring to young children. The woke perverts are trying to prey
on children below the age of consent. Why else would these degenerates introduce the concept of Incels to 3, 4, and 5 year olds? Just how sick
in the head are they? Why would they have the Doctor sexually harassing
people that disagree with him, and doubling down on it if they speak out
    and tell him to stop?

It used to be great when we all sat around as a family and
watched "Doctor Who" back in the glory days of the 9th/10th
Doctor... Alas, they have literally all switched it off one by

The glory days were those of the 9th and 11th. Ten no longer exists.
    Tennant destroyed him.
one and gone and done other things when it's been on. They have
zero interest in the show now. RTD seems to think what he's

Why would they where it's being made to sexually groom children, the
Doctor's been turned gay, and it's been written for infantile 12 year
old girls of very, very, very, low intelligence, instead of being
written for intelligent boys and heterosexual adults who form the
majority of the show's natural audience.

making is great, but when three people in one family choose not
to watch it at various times during the past two years, real
people in the real world clearly disagree with his assessment.

RTD is making it to sexually groom children. He's as much as admitted to
it himself. How many times do I have to tell you?

Whatever RTD's intention was, all he's done is produce a show
that very few people bar hardcore fans want to watch.

And those that watch it so others don't have to of course...

Tennant turned the Doctor gay and tried to virtue signal about it and
being trans. No child is going to watch this show ever again and be
    bullied at school.

The only day it can come back without erasing the entire RTD era, and it
will still have to do a Dallas, is from it to be made for adults
audiences only and written in an adult manner, and by adult I don't mean including sex or swearing.

    Yes, exactly.

The viewing figures demonstrated that the overnight audience was
effectively zero. It was just people that have their TV switched on to
BBC1 all day no matter what is on.
