I didn't see Blueshirt making a post about this episode, so I have to
make my own to comment, rather than reply to his.

    Spoilers.

So, weird stuff, exciting stuff, weird exciting stuff. Exciting weird
    stuff? What's going on?

Hello Anita! Nice to see you again. :)

Underverse? Like with the Necromongers in a Riddick movie?

Timelords infertile? How did that happen? What episode(s) do I have to rewatch?

I think the new Rani fit the part better than Mrs Flood.

Was Poppy always Belinda's daughter, or did he just make that real then?

Hello Madam Doctor! Nice to see you again. :)

Regeneration... I know that face... I know that face... Rose! Oh, wow!
Funny. :) Maybe her companion will be Doctor 14!

    Where was Susan?

It's there... somewhere. Although it was more a rant about RTD's
writing than a proper review. It served the same purpose though.

    Spoilers.

So, weird stuff, exciting stuff, weird exciting stuff.
Exciting weird stuff? What's going on?

I doubt anyone knew what was going on... just when I thought I
had a grasp of it, off it went in another direction.

Hello Anita! Nice to see you again. :)

Please hold the door open for me. Thanks.

Underverse? Like with the Necromongers in a Riddick movie?

I got "Stranger Things" vibes from it.

Timelords infertile? How did that happen? What episode(s) do I
    have to rewatch?

This one! RTD just made it up.

I think the new Rani fit the part better than Mrs Flood.

She fitted into Omega's mouth better anyway... he didn't fancy
the old woman version, too chewy... he wanted tender meat.

Was Poppy always Belinda's daughter, or did he just make that
    real then?

Who knows? Oh hang on, I know someone who might...

    russelltdavies@badwolfproductions.com

    Ask him.

Hello Madam Doctor! Nice to see you again. :)

And the nay-sayers back in 2023 thought RTD would retcon her!
He didn't just double-down, he tripled down on it!

Jodie's Doctor was completely unnecessary to the story though.
She was just another season finale gimmick. (Another egg in the
    pudding.)

Regeneration... I know that face... I know that face... Rose!
Oh, wow! Funny. :) Maybe her companion will be Doctor 14!

If I was a betting man I would put twenty quid on David Tennant
being involved in the next series of Doctor Who (whenever that
is) in some form or another.

    Where was Susan?

Who? If Time Lords can't have children they can't have
grand-children! So she can't exist, can she? ;-)

The correct answer though is... she was lost in the void
behind the monitor in the TARDIS.

I think I've seen that, but it doesn't have the subject line about this episode.

    Spoilers.

I don't know or remember that.

Timelords infertile? How did that happen? What episode(s) do I

This one! RTD just made it up.

Oh. And what did they use as excuse event to cause it?

I think the new Rani fit the part better than Mrs Flood.

She fitted into Omega's mouth better anyway... he didn't fancy
the old woman version, too chewy... he wanted tender meat.

    Lol.

That monster was just weird. So anything that enters the underverse
becomes a bone creature? (I completely didn't understand the explanation
    they gave, anyway.)

Was Poppy always Belinda's daughter, or did he just make that
    real then?

Who knows? Oh hang on, I know someone who might...

    russelltdavies@badwolfproductions.com

    Ask him.

Haha. I'd have better things to say to him. :P

I just remember she was a nurse, and a busy one, too.

Hello Madam Doctor! Nice to see you again. :)

And the nay-sayers back in 2023 thought RTD would retcon her!
He didn't just double-down, he tripled down on it!

I don't understand what they don't like about her. She was a great
    Doctor (with terrible scripts).

At least she got enough genius Doctor rambling and fixing/building
things. Doctor 15 didn't really, on top of mostly incoherent scripts.

Jodie's Doctor was completely unnecessary to the story though.
She was just another season finale gimmick. (Another egg in the
    pudding.)

[shrug] That doesn't bother me at all in this case.

Regeneration... I know that face... I know that face... Rose!

I'm not in the habit of betting either. I just keep up hope! :) He's out there, somewhere!

    Where was Susan?

Who? If Time Lords can't have children they can't have
grand-children! So she can't exist, can she? ;-)

I thought they said that infertility thing was caused by something
relatively recently/to do with the destruction of the Time Lords.

Thing is, they got destroyed and then came back later so often, I don't remember what the last such event was.

The correct answer though is... she was lost in the void
behind the monitor in the TARDIS.

I didn't notice that she was on a monitor, I thought she was in the
Doctor's mind. (At least when he was out in space, frozen.)

Btw, did anyone mention gravity/mavity after the reality fix? Maybe it
    went back to normal too?

No, it didn't. I thought I'd sleep on my episode review, as my
head was too dizzy on the Saturday evening. Then on Sunday
afternoon I just went with a different subject line... but it
was still my review, kind of.

I think I conveyed my feelings about the episode anyway!

Timelords infertile? How did that happen? What episode(s)

This one! RTD just made it up.

Oh. And what did they use as excuse event to cause it?

There was some cause and explanation, I'm not sure it all adds
up though. The real reason is this episode's sub-theme was
children, so RTD thought it'd be cool to have the Doctor
infertile for the emotional impact of it. I doubt there was
anything more to it than that.

Hello Madam Doctor! Nice to see you again. :)

And the nay-sayers back in 2023 thought RTD would retcon her!
He didn't just double-down, he tripled down on it!

I don't understand what they don't like about her. She was a

Her Doctor had potential but a lot of the ideas from that era
    were poor enough.

At least she got enough genius Doctor rambling and
fixing/building things. Doctor 15 didn't really, on top of
    mostly incoherent scripts.

Jodie's Doctor was completely unnecessary to the story

Thing is, they got destroyed and then came back later so
often, I don't remember what the last such event was.

It's okay, it'll all be changed again when it needs to be, or
another showrunner just forgets the explanation RTD wrote and
    ignores it.

The correct answer though is... she was lost in the void
behind the monitor in the TARDIS.

I didn't notice that she was on a monitor, I thought she was

Btw, did anyone mention gravity/mavity after the reality fix?
Maybe it went back to normal too?

No, 'mavity' was seemingly forgotten for the season finale.
If/when there's a third season I'm sure it will get resolved...
    possibly.

She didn?t have a penis. That?s enough for some people.

We never saw wether the other Doctors actually had a penis. Let them
    prove otherwise! ;P

(Apparently straight, white, cisgender males can only ever watch
programmes about straight, white, cisgender males or else
they?ll instantly turn woke which is a fate worse than death. Or
    something.)

Oh, they turn non-racist suddenly? What's wrong with that?

    Had to look up "cisgender".

Sigh. People really don't make sense. Not that they ever did, but these
days it's more widely visible from/to all across the globe.

Jodie's Doctor was completely unnecessary to the story though.
She was just another season finale gimmick. (Another egg in the
    pudding.)

[shrug] That doesn't bother me at all in this case.

She wasn?t completely unnecessary. The Doctor needed someone
there so that he could explain that he was going to use his
regeneration energy to fix the universe. But not a companion who
would just ask sensible questions about how and why he
can fix it like that and why has he never done anything like
    this before, etc.

Well, they didn't have a reality shift before, like that, did they?

OTOH the downside of bringing in another Doctor is that they
could each contribute a half-dose of regeneration energy so
NcutiDoc wouldn?t burn out and need to regenerate after all.

But Madam Doctor didn't do that, after all. :P

(Worse, they even reminded us that DavidDoc is still around. He
could add his energy to the mix too. The more the better.)

Hehe, now that'd have been something!

I admit, I just want that Doctor back on the screen. :)

    Where was Susan?

Who? If Time Lords can't have children they can't have
grand-children! So she can't exist, can she? ;-)

I thought they said that infertility thing was caused by something
relatively recently/to do with the destruction of the Time Lords.

That was my impression too, especially since the Rani used
very similar expressions to describe them both.

But we seem to be the only ones who interpret it that way.

The others didn't pay attention then!

Thing is, they got destroyed and then came back later so often, I
don't remember what the last such event was.

The ?O? Master did it between Whittaker?s first two seasons.

Rings no bell. I'll have to rewatch that some day.

Btw, did anyone mention gravity/mavity after the reality fix? Maybe
it went back to normal too?

Unfortunately not. It?s still there as yet another unresolved plot
strand, alongside Susan, the Boss, the Toymaker?s tooth, etc.

    The Boss?

Could this have been a side effect of Gualifray being placed in a mini-Universe thingee following the Time War .... which was only

Was that the last time they were destroyed, in the series?

And that contradicts the timeless Child.

For me, the TV show takes precedence over the expanded universe.

If there are two events in Doctor Who lore that contradict each

through the episode to find it. The boss is actually a 'they'. Hm.

Was Meep's boss also a they?

about 25 Gualifrean (Timey Whimey) years ago??

Was that the last time they were destroyed, in the series?

    Yes, I think so.

The Rani said something about a genetic explosion though. Doesn't fit mini-universe.

    Never heard of that.

That?s OK. The infertility was tied to a specific origin for the
Time Lords and the Doctor that?s now been junked for the
    Timeless Child instead.

That's junk too. Just made up and sneaked into the Matrix to confuse the Doctor.

Put simply, millennia ago a witch cursed Gallifrey (yes, really!)
turning it infertile. All new Time Lords were clones grown in
genetic Looms (including the Doctor, who?s the clone of an
ancient Time Lord scientist called the Other.)

I?m simplifying a little bit, but you get the idea.

    I read through Blueshirt's link. :)

Whatever you do, don't mention Looms!!!

    Why?

Here's a link to a review of the book... it's easier than
explaining it! Some people love "Lungbarrow", I wouldn't be too
fussed over it. It was a good read, Marc Platt is an excellent

The Toymaker, Sutekh, The Rani, Omega, Susan, The 13th
Doctor and Rose Tyler... of course the Master is going to be

Or he could actually be bringing back BOSS from The Green

A sequel to "The Green Death" would be cool... especially as
green issues are more prevalent these days. I doubt RTD is
THAT creative though. Boss equalling Master seems to be more
    his level.

    NO.

It makes perfect sense... for those who lack originality.

    2023 - The Toymaker
    2024 - Sutekh
    2025 - The Rani/Omega
    2026 - The Master

Don't yer just know in RTD's S3/16 draft scripts, which may or
may not get made, The Master was going to be the big bad.
Probably a bi-generated Master in fact as RTD always has to
over-do things... so one male, one female, to tick the right
boxes and keep the BBC happy.

In fairness, the Virgin NA novels were published when Doctor Who
was off-screen and for a time they were considered a
continuation of the series. (i.e. post "Survival".)

But yes, since the show returned they are still part of the
expanded universe and can be dealt with as such. Some people
count them, some people don't. Each to their own...

Aren't The (Human) 13th Doctor and Rose off on a Beach
    somewhere??

Well, as Ncuti Gatwa has just 'regenerated' into somebody who
looks incredibly like Rose Tyler, obviously not! ;-)

(And I am assuming you meant the 10th Doctor, not 13th... Jodie
Whittaker was the 13th Doctor of course.)

There could be a clue in "The Reality War" though. (Which
obviously you haven't seen.) In the UNIT tower when it's all
done Ruby asks is the world exactly the same. Susan Twist's
character says there have been some glitches, tiny little
changes, one of them being the border between Sweden and Norway
    has moved nine miles...

It could mean nothing, but Norway is of course where Bad Wolf
Bay is... aka "a beach somewhere"!

As RTD could have written about any border in the world and
chose Norway, I assume that line is there for a reason.

They stomp so nicely (in the newer series, not classic).

When the RL robot household assistants reach the stores, I want one with Cyberman look, but maybe only half as tall as the TV ones. :) 3 feet to

And I want a Roomba/other vaccuum robot with a little Dalek on top!
