Does the image of Jon Pertwee (greatest Doctor, agreed) strapped to a

Well, it's one of the better cameos of the series... proper
Daleks too. So if you are going to revisit the show's old
baggage, the Pertwee era works for me! :-)

Using the Daleks is probably expensive since the BBC do not own the
    rights to them.

RTD has said he won't be using the 'traditional enemies of the Doctor'
    as much or at all.

    Old clip.

    Really? Are you sure?

And there was me thinking they got Jon Pertwee back to film
a cameo scene replicating one from the classic era of the show.
Oh well, you learn something new every day...

No! No! No, Blueshirt, they just loaded the Film Crew into The
TARDIS and went back to 1966 .... and, for once, The TARDIS
went where/When it was supposed to go!! ;-)

Well, they wouldn't have got much footage of Jon Pertwee as
the Doctor in 1966... so it still didn't go where it was
    supposed to go!!! :-)

    Yes... JonDoc not PatDoc!

The idea of the Daleks was created by Terry Nation, and his estate

the copyright for the pepper-pot design.

death. A number of licensed usages have been made over the
    years."

"Though the design of the Daleks is owned by the BBC, the
character of The Daleks is owned by estate of their creator,
Terry Nation. This results in something of a joint ownership
of the characters, where neither can really move forward
    without the other."

Oh. Shame they can't just buy the rights.

Or invent something new with that design. :P

I reckon THAT would probably end up in Court .... with The BBC
    loosing.

Why, they have the right to the design. They can call it what they want,
and have them do their own thing. Maybe serving sushi in a restaurant in Japan!
