The actress Jean Marsh has passed away aged 90.

Among her many famous television roles Jean Marsh was known to us
Doctor Who fans as Sarah Kingdom ("The Daleks' Master Plan" -
1966) and Morgaine ("Battlefield" - 1989)... she also had a
role in "The Crusade" in 1965. Jean Marsh was once married
to the Third Doctor, Jon Pertwee.

Yes, RIP. I thought she was terrific as Morgaine. Having mainly known
her from "Upstairs, Downstairs", I'd previously had no idea she had such
a broad range as an actress.

She was in both the original "Upstairs, Downstairs" and the more recent remake, plus was a co-creator of the original show.

I learned on reading her obituary in my newspaper this morning that she
had an additional connection with Doctor Who, having been married to Jon Pertwee from 1955 to 1960. Though of course that was before DW began,
and back when Pertwee was probably best known for "The Navy Lark" on the radio.
