• The top 10 worst episodes of Nu-Who 20 years on

From The True Doctor@3:633/280.2 to All on Thu Mar 27 10:35:06 2025
Here is my list of the top 10 worst episode series by series of Nu-Who
    20 years on.

(The list might change as time passes.)

    Series 1) Boom Town

Series 2) Fear Her (The Olympic torch relay and cauldron lighting was excruciating and featured cometary by a self-admitted child abuser. Even
with that said the cauldron lighting is still more memorable that the
actual London 2012 cauldron lighting by a bunch of complete nobodies.)

Series 3) 42 (Terrible writing throughout by Chris Chibnall)

    Series 4) Midnight

    Specials) Planet of the Dead

Series 5) Amy's Choice (Set's up the Dream Lord who subsequently amounts
    to nothing)

    Series 6) Closing Time

Series 7) The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe

Specials) The Time of the Doctor

    Series 8) Kill The Moon

    Series 9) Face the Raven

    Series 10) The Pilot

And that's where Doctor Who ends.

Us Doctor Who fans love our lists don't we?

    I'll play...

(The list might change as time passes.)

Ditto. At the moment though I am happy enough to go with these:

    Series 1) Boom Town

    The Long Game

    Series 2) Fear Her

The Idiot's Lantern (It was close though!)

    Series 3) 42

    The Lazarus Experiment

    Series 4) Midnight

    The Sontaran Stratagem

    Specials) Planet of the Dead

    The Next Doctor (Giant Cyberman!)

    Series 5) Amy's Choice

Tough one, but I have to go with Victory of the Daleks, simply
    because of those hump-backed monstrosities.

    Series 6) Closing Time

    Curse of the Black Spot

Series 7) The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe

    The Power of Three

Specials) The Time of the Doctor

    Series 8) Kill The Moon

In the Forest of the Night (Another close one!)

    Series 9) Face the Raven

    Sleep No More

    Series 10) The Pilot

The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos

And that's where Doctor Who ends.

Series 11 - The Tsuranga Conundrum

    Series 12 - Orphan 55

Series 13 - The Vanquishers (Flux Chapter 6)

Tennant Specials - Wild Blue Yonder

    Series 14 - Space Babies

I mean, it's only twenty years so it doesn't have to be a long

Worst 10 - hmm. Going backwards in time for variety...

The Devil's Chord. Waste of a great premise, the resolution was facile -
far too casual for killing a God - made no logical sense. And a fourth-wall
breaking disconnected musical number at the end. They could have done the
same song and dance and fitted it into the script somehow , but nobody
    tried.

    Praxeus. Dreary, plodding and preachy.

    Orphan 55. See Praxeus.

The Battle of Ranskoor av Kolos. Dull, flat and just not a worthy season
    finale.

Kill the Moon. Stupid beyond belief.

In the Forest of the Night. Boring, stupid beyond belief and pointless.

The Angels Take Manhattan. Terrible use of Angels, awful send off and ending
for Amy and Rory, and the excuse for never seeing them again is just absurd
and so easy to get around - just no.

    Fear Her. Awful.

Gods and Monsters. Could have been sublime but Peter Kay and the Absorbaloff
    were just unutterably awful.

Bad Wolf. The TV pastiches were poor at the time and they haven't aged well.

Another day, I might list another ten.

I could easily do another ten stories from the past fifteen
years! Some years it was a toss up between two or three stories
that I could have gone for as the worst.

I did enjoy a lot of the Eccleston/Tennant era though, so even
though some stories haven't stood the test of time, I did find
them enjoyable enough. I can be forgiving to the extent that I
am aware I wasn't the show's target audience.

In the Forest of the Night was totally ridiculous, using the oxygen in
the atmosphere to put out a global fire. It was written with a person
with the writing ability of a 4 year old child. Even a 6 year old knows
    oxygen will feed a fire.

Whittaker didn't have a single good episode at all because they were all
badly written and she was in them all. Gata doesn't have a single good
episode either for the same reasons. The only one that can be labelled
the best is 73 Yards because the cross dressing mentally ill retard
    wasn't in most of it.

There was no DW 2018 to 2022 !
There has been no Doctor Who since 2017 when the series ended. Even The
Curse of Fatal Death is closer to being Doctor Who than the degenerate
woke crap that replaced it from 2018 onwards which needs to be cancelled.

That would have been my second choice.

In the Forest of the Night was totally ridiculous,

And that's where Doctor Who ends.

Series 11 - The Tsuranga Conundrum

    Series 12 - Orphan 55

Series 13 - The Vanquishers (Flux Chapter 6)

Tennant Specials - Wild Blue Yonder

    Series 14 - Space Babies

None of those are episodes of Doctor Who. All of them were
so bad it's virtually impossible to pick the worst.

The lows certainly outweighed the highs of the 13th Doctor's
era but Jodie did have some good stories... the wheels did
come off the bus more often than not though. It's all part
of the show though so they count for me.

    Resolution, Village of the Angels...)

The jury is still out on Ncuti Gatwa's era, but he has only had

It also seems to be a very popular 'subject' for the YouTube
community... so people have to be watching the show to be
talking about it all the time...

Even Agamemnon watches it... so he's clearly a fan or he

    As per whose definition?

I'm happy to go with the BBC's definition, as they are
    ultimately responsible for Doctor Who.

That's the same BBC that you love so much you pirate their
programmes via some dodgy Canadian IPTV provider.

So Doctor Who returns to BBC1 and the iPlayer on Saturday 12th
April. And everyone knows you will be watching it...

Doctor Who isn't returning in April or at any time in the near future.
    It ended in 2017.

This has nothing to do with the Doctor being turned into a woman. It has everything to do with William Hartnell's entire legacy being erased and
being replaced with a monster created from an abducted child that was repeatedly abused and murdered by its abductor, changing race and gender
over and over and over again in the process, before being brainwashed

It's simpler to just ignore the bits of a TV show that you don't

It doesn't look like you're gonna get chance to see much
more of him judging by the rumours... ;-)

But THERE WILL BE SOMEONE ELSE .... Maybe HE will regenerate
into a NEW SHE DOCTOR!! ;-)

    YOU BEAUTY!!

Strangely enough, there are plenty of stories about Ncuti Gatwa
having left Doctor Who, as well as rumours that he has already
filmed his regeneration scene. However, nothing has leaked about
who the next Doctor will be. Which probably means they haven't
cast anyone yet... or they are going to return to David Tennant
    for a while.

My fan fic. is still far, far, far batter than anything written by
Davies, Moffat, or Chibnall whatever you think of it.

There is no 15th Doctor. The last Doctor was played by
Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor though technically he was
the 13th counting the War Doctor played by John Hurt or
the 14th if you count David Tennant twice.

Where is Jo Martin's Doctor in you numerical list of
Doctors? As she couldn't have come after Peter Capaldi's
Doctor, could she? So she has to be somewhere before
    twelve! ;-)

There is no Jo Martin Doctor. The Doctor is not a woman. The
character of the Doctor is that of a heterosexual man who was
a father and grandfather. Had he not died he might one day
have chosen to regenerate as a lizard, but given that all of
his pervious regeneration where white men that would have been
    highly unlikely.

With fiction the unlikely can easily happen if the writer
chooses it to... in "Dallas" the unlikely happened when Bobby
Ewing walked out of the shower!!!

Then Clara wakes up from her bad dream in Last Christmas and Capaldi
walks out of the shower to find her in bed with Danny Pink.

That doesn't me that it will ever return to out screens
    again with brand new episodes.

I think you're taking the humourous banter a bit too far
    now...

Doctor Who ended in 2017! Accept it.

Only one person in this discussion needs to accept anything and
    that's you in accepting reality.

    Doctor Who lives!

    For now anyway... ;-)

Doctor Who is dead and buried. There's not been a single new episode of
    it since 2017.

We get it, you didn't like the 13th Doctor... or the 15th
Doctor. Try and be sensible about it though... think of the

There are no Doctors after Peter Capaldi also known as the
12th Doctor. Capaldi dies on the even horizon of a black hole
after getting his companion killed by deciding to play stupid
childish games thinking he can turn the Mistress into a good
persons. Adolf Hitler was irredeemable and neither is the
Mistress or the Timeless Child Monster.

children. I'm sure Uncle AGA doesn't want to send them all to
bed in a confused state now does he?
Perverts like Chris Chibnall can only think of abusing
children, therefore children should not be watching anything
    that he is associated with.

    Serious question.

Do you genuinely believe everything you type here? Or do you
    just like to prompt discussion?

Serious question. Do you understand the concepts of character and characterisation in good literature and the rules by which character is written and maintained so that character and characterisation remain consistent and the protagonists are always recognisable to the audience
as the same people they were when they were created or first depicted?
The character of the Doctor is a white heterosexual man who left his
home planet with his granddaughter in a stolen time machine in order to explore the universe. He is not a baby black girl from another dimension
that was abducted and repeatedly abused and murdered by the woman that abducted it and forced to repeatedly change race, gender and sexuality
and then brainwashed to become an accomplice to genocide and then when
it fled after realising the enormity of its crimes was captured and
turned into a baby white boy that had its memory erased. The latter is
the character of Doomsday from DC Comics who was created to kill Superman.

I'll grant you, Aggy, that The Timeless Child WAS an ABUSED BLACK girl

The child's abduction was specifically shown in the episode it was in.
Taking a and abandoned child from where you found it to your home
instead of a police station or social services or alerting the police
and social services is abduction. A child is not a stray cat or dog that wanders into your garden looking for food.

ABUSED/MURDERED, they would have run away, surely??
The child did try to run away. It fell off a cliff. After that it was restrained in a bed.
