Followed by the first Children in Need minisode, and The Christmas Invasion (his first full episode as lead) - all still in 2005.

If anything it’s 2010 that’s more of a push - The End of Time Part 2 was on New Year’s Day 2010, after Part 1 on Christmas Day 2009. David had actually finished and left several months earlier, and the episode nudging over into 2010 was the conclusion of a 2009 story.
