While children are at school, (foreign) parents are being arrested by ICE. This is currently the state of affairs in the US. It reminds me of the 1930s in Germany, but there are still people who refuse to see this comparison.

I am just starting to read "It Can't Happen Here" A work of fiction about the rise of Fascism in the US. It was the book that was used as the basis for the mini series V.

At the time Kenneth Johnson was writing the script. The protagonist were originally not going to be aliens from outer space but NBC did not think American audiences would intentify with a facist US goverance, as we are conditioned to look for external threats.

There should be no comparison. There was a time and place that America took and for the most part had a moral compass. We were BETTER then "Other countries." We were founded because our founding fathers thought we could do it better than "The other guy".

Like everything else, we want it both ways, we go about with a smug "We're American, we don't care." when it suits us then turn around and say, "but everyone else does it.." when it suits us.

The other point is that we do not really have immigration laws that really make sense. We need migrant labor, but haven't had any solid plan on how to host that migrant labor since WWII (Bracero program). We exclude citizens from allied countries from the visa vaiver program, even when the US is exempt from short term visas.

Now, due to the MAGAmaniacs in Washington we are stripping them of any sort of due process. You speak of getting back to the rule of law.. How about it starting with the guy in the Whitehouse..

I enjoyed that series too and the remake that ABC did a few years ago with actress Morena Baccarin.
But unless a gigantic mother ship casts a city wide shadow over urban areas.

I could spend the whole day going over what the Democrats use to say and how that's changed.

When Joe "The Auto-Pen" Biden was installed. Barry Obama was able to have his 3rd term with a certain anonymity. Pack the court with ideologies and open the borders and when that wasn't working fast enough they started flying them in late at night without American's knowing... or their representatives.

The illegals, people who entered the country illegally circumvented the citizens of this country due process to figure out who's here and who shouldn't be.

The prior administration ignored the laws on the books... We are a Republic... A Nation of Laws... The current administration is using the laws we currently have to expel the illegals that are in the US.

Trump's focus is on the people who already have deportation documents... They've had their day in court. They are also focused on criminals, people who have been convicted of crimes... and lastly gang member and cartel members.

Now if you were/are an illegal and you happen to be around one people and it's found that you are an illegal then you go as well.

We have laws, I say follow the laws that congress made.

Here's my thoughts on the above matter... The Democrats running these Sanctuary States/Cities should help ICE get rid of these criminals... He's Pedro he sexually assaulted a young 12 year old girl... Apparently she asked for it... Come get him!! Once you have the thugs out then you can focus on a possible legal pathways for the other nonviolent criminals.

We are giving them more due process than they gave us. The rule of law says that if you are here illegally you get deported.

That's the law... Due Process is in immigration court where those judges make a determination.

I have family members working the immigration process, I have a niece who made it with her family. A process that took 5 years or so... She and her youngest daughter were separated from her husband of oldest daughter.

They did it legally and they were vetted... and now they are together.

Change the laws you don't like, don't just ignore them.
