I had a phone call that went like this:
Them: May I speak to the owner of the business?
Me: What's this about?
Them: We are (undescernable bla bla) POS company.
Me: What POS company?
Then: (undescernable bla bla bla) POS company.
Me: Sorry, but we already have a problem. I can't quite make
out what you are saying.
Them: We have great rates for your POS service. How long have
you been in business?
Me: Sorry, but unless you are calling about placing an order
with my company I don't have time to answer arbitrary
questions.
Them: It's OK. We are not selling anything. This call is to
find out what POS merchant company are you with now? What is
your annual sales income? ...
Me: Not interested.
Them: I'm telling you, we want to send you FREE information!
Me: But my information, and time answering your questions is
NOT free. Goodbye.

Until recently, my business line was a landline. And everytime
I would try to hang up on a call, the line would NOT release a
dialtone back to me. I would have to wait until the caller
terminated the call. Now on cellular, when I initiate a
disconnect it is a true disconnect.
