China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC) has placed an order for thirty Airbus A320neo aircraft. This is the Chinese leasing company's fifth order with the French aircraft manufacturer.
This new order brings the total number of A320neo aircraft ordered to 203. According to the company, customer demand was the primary driver for the order. CALC indicates that the order can be adjusted to include other variants within the A320neo family.
"Our partnership with Airbus began in 2012. Two years later, we were the first Chinese leasing company to place a direct bulk order," says CEO Mike Poon.
CALC placed its first order for aircraft in the A320neo family in 2012. An order for the same type and the A320neo family followed in 2014. In 2017, the company acquired another 65 A320neos, and in 2020 the fleet was expanded with A321neos.
