Following Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, and Stansted, London City Airport will also charge drivers dropping off passengers. According to the airport, this is intended to encourage passengers to use public transport.

Starting January 6, 2026, a fee of 8 pounds (the equivalent of just over 9 euros) will be charged to enter the airport grounds. Drivers who don't leave within five minutes will pay an additional 1 pound for each additional minute. The plan had already been announced and has now been confirmed by the airport.

At Heathrow, drivers will pay 6 pounds, at Gatwick 10 (from January 6), and at Stansted and Luton 7.

Another plan is in place to ease the burden on taxi drivers at London City Airport. Payment will be made online, and license plate checks will be carried out using cameras.
