• Using supplemental oxygen

From Sylvia Else@3:633/280.2 to All on Thu Oct 24 17:50:09 2024
This report relates to fumes in the cabin of a light twin.

    https://www.atsb.gov.au/media/news-items/2024/fumes-event-highlights-importance-supplemental-oxygen-diverting-nearest-appropriate-alternate-airport

It discusses using supplemental oxygen in cases like this.

But that oxygen wouldn't usually be used at low level, and I'd have to
    be concerned about oxygen toxicity.

    Sylvia.

    This investigation was hampered by:
"Blood samples were not taken from the crew as Emerald Hospital
did not have the equipment required for blood gas testing."
I would think blood samples could be taken, capped, and tested later/elsewhere.

"Despite extensive post-occurrence ground and in-flight
examination, the source of the fumes could not be established."

That's a big mystery. I note ADSB considered wildfires etc.
