I am now retired but we did used to sell pet rocks...they came nicely
in a box with 'papers' and were guaranteed to be 'toilet trained'

We also sold (and still do) all sorts of mineral specimens and stones (non-precious, semi-precious and precious) suitable for polishing.

(no the pet rocks aren't in the web store...)

Impressive but not really my thing.

Gordon is a wild rock, not a common or garden domestic one. He came
to me on a beach and I often think he found me rather than the other
    way about.

Gordon is a rather fine three-ounce granite pebble, well rounded but
not too smooth. He has black and grey crystals set in a very pale pink
matrix. He thinks he's about 500 million years old but he lost count
during the Mesozoic. He's a free rock and a free spirit; I am honoured
    to have his company.

At University, I went out with a geologist, so somewhere in the house I do
have a chunk of wolframite that she gave me...
