I have install chocolate-doom on Voidlinux 32 bit and Devuan Daedalus 32 bit and DosBox, but wont start the game.
Where is my mistake?
For Devuan Daedalus I assume that you have installed this package:
|
| # apt search chocolate-doom
| Sorting... Done
| Full Text Search... Done
| chocolate-doom/stable 3.0.1+really3.0.0+git1471-1 amd64
| Doom engines closely-compatible with Vanilla Doom
Then you don't need DosBox, because the program is compiled for your
native OS (GNU/Linux).
Freedoom should already be installed as dependency too (the package "chocolate-doom" is only the game engine, without the data for the
maps and monsters).
Open a terminal and start the engine:
|
| $ chocolate-doom
You should see somthing like:
|
| Chocolate Doom 3.0.0
| Z_Init: Init zone memory allocation daemon.
| [...]
| W_Init: Init WADfiles.
| adding /usr/share/games/doom/freedoom2.wad
| [...]
and be able to play Freedoom.
