    right humidity and temperature level, and the amount of handling was
    kept to a minimum.

    Physical artifacts degrade over time. That?s why you need data storage
    and propagation methods that are not bound to particular physical
    artifacts.

    No, it isn?t really that hard, with the right equipment and skills. Professional archivists do this as part of their job.
