    Mitac was an ODM at one time, they seem to be shipping various systems now,
    but not with a particular consumer focus. They acquired Tyan, for example.

    The items never seem to be exactly what you're after. Form factors, or
    too-high prices (a box with a $299 processor in it, shouldn't be too expensive).

    Thanks to lots of adverts "normalizing" the prices.

    What's interesting, is the 270K processor is $299 or so.
    That's not the apparent expensive part.

    The weakest Wildcat Lake has 1 P core and 4 E cores.
    Be careful what you wish for, in low end laptops
    or mini-PCs. While a lot of the adverts promote the
    2 P core and 4 E core version, sometimes what ships
    is the weaker 1 P core one. And for windows, it's
    good to have 2 P cores (Windows Update).

    And the usual thing, about what has ECC and what does not have ECC.
    DDR5 has two potential levels of ECC. It took someone in one
    of the other newsgroups, about five months of back and forth with
    various suppliers, to have the full two ECC thing working on his desk.
    He had to have the motherboard sent back, and they flashed in a
    lab prototype of a BIOS for him.

    It's a great time to be alive, for sure. All this
    stuff is so so easy.
