Subject: [NEWS] "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" 2005 movie 4K Ultra HD steelbook release

A bit pointless unless they are planning to also release steelbook
versions of the others in the movie series ... even better if they had actually finished the series instead of ditching it part-way through!!

Narnia Movie Gets A New Release Fans Have Been Asking For
Ahead of The Magician's Nephew
---------------------------------------------------------
The Chronicles of Narnia is getting a new physical release just
as the franchise prepares for its Netflix comeback. Directed by
Andrew Adamson, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is the
first film in the franchise.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
is receiving a 4K Ultra HD SteelBook edition on December 15. The
release arrives ahead of Greta Gerwig's upcoming adaptation of
The Magician's Nephew.

SteelBook editions have become popular among collectors,
offering a premium physical-media option in an increasingly
streaming-focused market. Unlike standard DVD and Blu-ray cases,
SteelBooks feature collectible metal packaging.

The 4K SteelBook includes bonus features that take fans deeper
into Narnia
Special features include a commentary featuring Adamson and
members of the cast, a filmmaker commentary, and two Creatures,
Lands & Legends featurettes: Creatures of the World and Explore
Narnia 3-D Map.

Unlike the publication order followed by the original film
trilogy, Gerwig's planned adaptation begins with The Magician's
Nephew, the earliest story chronologically. Although
The Magician's Nephew is first in the series' chronological
timeline, it was the sixth of the seven books to be published.

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe stars Tilda Swinton, James
McAvoy, Liam Neeson, Georgie Henley, Skandar Keynes, William
Moseley, and Anna Popplewell. Andrew Adamson also wrote the
screenplay alongside Stephen McFeely, Christopher Markus, and
Ann Peacock. Mark Johnson and Phillip Steuer served as producers
on the film.

The Walt Disney Pictures film grossed nearly $745 million
worldwide against its budget of $180 million. The movie received
positive reviews for its visual effects, casting, and costumes
and has a 76% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes.
