    A telnet server with an interactive world map:

    telnet mapscii.me

    Needs real telnet, can't use netcat (`nc`) to fake it, like some
    "telnet" services.

    It uses colors and Braille Unicode characters, so not quite ASCII, but
    similar in spirit. You can move around with vi keys: h/j/k/l and change
    the zoom with a and z.

    Need to zoom in a few times before "Perth" shows up. Red text, blue

    Great!

    When using xterm, you can even use the mouse:

    - left-click + drag to move
    - mouse wheel to zoom

    Then it's just as fast as in a browser.
    Only a location search is missing :)

    This is so dope. I shared this with the bbs community on fsxnet echonet
    and was surprised by the huge response.

    This is a really really cool service. One of the guys wanted something
    similar to map out his bike trails and this was a perfect inspiration.

    Impressive. It should zoomm in more to show the buildings too like
    Google Maps, Apple Maps, etc. ;)
