Have you ever been the least bit curious about what it is that you are
doing that doesn't follow their Community Standards? I don't know anyone
else who has these problems. I suspect it is either that they suspect your actions make you likely a bot, or that possibly someone else is trying to
hack your account.

A couple things I want to point out about this Facebook suspension that I left
out:

1) If I "violated their community standards" then why are they inviting me to share a video selfie with them? That will make them forgive me whatever horrible thing I did wrong?

2) What does a video selfie even prove? If I go to a store to buy beer, they aren't going to accept a video selfie as ID. So what gives?

Their elitism (whether it's automated or not) disgusts me. And I didn't do anything wrong. I get on Facebook and I watch the reels that they show me and then I sign off, and today was no different than any other day.

Video selfies are for proving you are not a bot. Something you are doing
makes them think you are a bot.

Something I left out of my last message but just dawned on me... it could
also be your IP Address. I had some issues with mine because a web crawler linked to a company that was trying to sell me their virus software
red-flagged my IPA because their crawler found compressed files here. As "here" includes a BBS, that would make sense.

I blocked their crawlers and also removed access to the file areas for
guests, and the problem eventually cleared up. I didn't want to stop
guests from being able to download old DOS programs but, for the time
being, that is how it is.

The only dishonest thing I've done on Facebook is my profile photo is a picture of me from about 10 years ago, but I am fussy about photos of myself and I think it's a good photo, and I think I still look the same.

IMO: They shouldn't care what you use as a profile photo, as long as it's not offensive or containing nudity. But obviously I don't make the rules.

I get the feeling that big tech is building their own database on us and taking inventory on people. I have no doubt that they get satisfaction from controlling people. They even said "When you take the selfie video we will ask you to turn your head in certain directions to get a view from different angles." If that's not a sick desire to control people, then I don't know what is.

That suspicion would make sense, but what am I doing that's bot like? I watch reels, I commented on my friend's photo of his new house, I friended my wife. That's about it.

To me, the botlike behaviors are: people who post photoshopped photos of themselves, people who post photos of celebrities, people who send friend requests to people they don't know.

Right? I'm not like that. So who knows.

I've seen people use non-selfies as profile photos. So that's not the problem.
