However, the
recent threads about Rust is the first time I've heard about any conspiracy theories about tech evangelists wanting to control things by recommending Rust.
The problem with conspiracy theories today is that most end up being proven true.
But as to why they are pushing Rust, I don't know since I can't read minds.
What I do know is that:
1. Rust itself isn't ready for prime time.
2. The Rust rewrites are incomplete, unproven and buggy. Example: The CloudFlare outage recently.
3. And every reason the Rusties are giving for why they want this is provably false.
I always thought tech evangelists simply liked
certain technologies (and usually there are good reasons to like some technologies, as they do have their own advantages).
Evangelists encourage, demonstrate, and overall, try to prove that they are right with facts and results.
The Rusties aren't "evangelists". They are something else.
... I may have my faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.
