    I am thinking about buying a 2nd generation ryzen processor since it
    would be supported by Windows 11, is buying a used cpu a risky choice?

    I would purchase on eBay from a known good used parts vendor... I'd stay away from online marketplaces for reasons that MRO mentioned - but I think the used hardware market is a good way to buy so long as you vet the vendor. eBay with a bit of research; save $$$.

    I have luck w/ things that are community-based... like Antique Lighters or Commodore/retro computer parts...
